03 — Why it matters
Most European businesses are already online. The difference between those that sell and those that stall is the quality of their presence — not whether they have a website.
The bigger the company, the more likely it has a site. Small firms are 19 points behind.

04 — Going alone
A site is easy to start and hard to maintain. These are the problems that show up — almost always after it goes live.
A broken cookie banner, a privacy policy copied from the internet or a form with no legal basis are GDPR breaches. Fines reach into the millions.
Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act requires digital services to be accessible. Contrast, keyboard use and screen readers are not optional.
Without protection, a contact form is a target: spam, code injection and stolen customer data.
Shared servers with no backups and no monitoring. When they fall, they fall in the middle of a campaign.
Outdated plugins are the most common way in. A website is not a job that ends on delivery day.
If a customer's data is lost or a complaint reaches the regulator, the business answers for it — not the template you used.
